OSPERI – LUXE SAFFRON FACE MASK AND TEA TREE OIL – REVIEW.

Hello!

Glow. Shine. Sparkle. – that’s the tagline of this new health and beauty company called Osperi (Est. 2016). I really liked their idea of creating completely natural remedies and their unique take on the skincare regimen. If you’d visit their website ( http://www.osperi.com ) , you can see that they have a personalized skin care regimen quiz through which they suggest you products that are customized for your unique skin type, your age and your skin concerns. I’m seriously impressed by their idea of going out of their way for complete customer satisfaction. Also, this is not a sponsored review, this is my complete and honest review about the products I’ve used from Osperi. As these are skin care products, I’ve actually used them for 4 weeks before writing this review and I’ve followed the entire skincare regimen, so I could provide a completely honest and no-hidden-surprises review.

Osperi Luxe Saffron Face Mask – Review

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with c1 preset

Firstly, I love the packaging of this product. It is in the right sense of its description – Luxe. Secondly, I love the fact this face mask is formulated without any Parabens or synthetic fragrances and dyes – it is completely herbal and it smells amazing; like a DIY skin care product your grandma would give you – I’d say this mask would be 100% Grandma approved. It is also not tested on animals and is 100% Herbal, Ayurvedic and Handmade.

I’ve used the face mask for 4 weeks now ( twice/thrice a week, even though it says – Use Daily ) and I can say, without any hesitation that this mask is one of the best face masks I’ve ever used; be it DIY or store bought. It shows an immediate reaction from the first application itself, making your skin look brighter but on constant application every week, the results are far better. The difference I noticed in my skin after 4 weeks of application is that the texture of my skin improved and it got brighter and less harsh. I followed the directions to use by using it with Rose Water ( my holy grail, btw) and washing it off with cold water in 15 minutes. There is a good difference that the mask resulted on my skin and now it has become a very important part of my skin care regimen.

Osperi Tea Tree Oil – Review

Processed with VSCO with m5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 preset

I’ve always brushed off the idea of using a face oil in my skincare regimen whenever someone suggested it to me, but I decided to take a chance with the Tea Tree oil because of all the talk on how it can do WONDERS for your skin. I tried and tested the Osperi Tea Tree oil, every night for 4 weeks, applying it 15 minutes before I go to bed, and all that talk about the oil doing wonders for your skin? COMPLETELY TRUE. This oil has become my holy grail product next to Rose water for my skin. It starts showing results within a week or two, if applied on a daily basis; and the results speak for themselves.

This oil cleared up my acne, cleared most of my facial marks, made my skin smooth and also radiant – and all this in 4 weeks time. I apply this oil quite religiously now, every night because of all the difference it has made for my skin. Although, the directions to use ask you to mix 8 drops of the tea tree oil into 1 tbsp of a carrier oil ( Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil or Coconut Oil), I suggest you experiment and figure out what works best for you and go ahead with that. Personally, I like to mix 8 drops of Tea Tree oil with exactly 8 drops of Olive Oil. I use the Farrell Premium Olive Oil, you can obviously use any carrier oil that suits your preferences.

  • Mix 8 drops of oil in 1 tbsp of a carrier oil (Jojoba, Olive or Coconut Oil)
  • Apply this solution at night on a dry face thrice a week (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday)
  • Wait for 10-15 minutes before jumping into bed. Leave it on for the night.

My Top 10 Affordable Lipsticks for the Indian Skin Tone.

Hello!

Its International Lipstick Day and I thought its only fair that us Indian beauties get to celebrate it too! I love lipsticks, and if you’re reading this then you do too; or at least you’re intrigued by them and for that I give you a *high-five*. So, the following lipsticks are the ones that I absolutely love – out of all the lipsticks I’ve owned and tried. These lipsticks are my absolute favorite because they complement my skin tone amazingly well AND they go very easy on the pocket too. You see? Its not so hard to fall in love with them.

My Top 10 Affordable Lipsticks for the Indian Skin Tone. ❤

1. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick Shade – BUMBLE

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Top – Colourpop Matte Lippie Stix Shade- Goal Digger. // Bottom- Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick Shade- Bumble.

Bumble is the one lipstick which was love at first swipe for me. Its a warm rose shade that flatters your lips exceptionally well. Its a liquid lipstick and it is ultra matte, just like its name suggests and its ultra pigmented. A single swipe of the lipstick will last you an entire day. Its also easy to apply and non-transferable, except when you eat something highly greasy. I do suggest using a light balm or primer before you wear this on your lips, as with any other matte lipstick because you don’t want your lips to dry out.

Price : $6.00 ( Rs. 385, exclusive of Shipping and Custom charges. )

Sold at : http://www.colourpop.com (They ship worldwide. )

Bonus : The lippie stix “GOAL DIGGER” from Colourpop is the same shade as Bumble in a matte lipstick formula which retails for $5.00 ( Rs. 321) if you do not like the feel of liquid lipsticks.

2.  Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick Shade – VIPER

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick – Viper.

Viper is a dusty rose shade, and just like Bumble its highly pigmented, ultra matte, non-transferable and gives an easy application. The shade looks more dusty mauve-y on the Indian skin tone, which looks sultry and I love it. This lipstick lasted me throughout a greasy dinner, requiring absolutely no touch ups, so I love it even more.

Price : $6.00 ( Rs. 385, exclusive of Shipping and Custom charges. )

Sold at : http://www.colourpop.com (They ship worldwide. )

3. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick Shade – PLAY DATE

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick – Play Date.

If you know me, then you know that I own a lot of dark lipsticks. Play Date is my favorite among all the dark shade lipsticks that I own. Its a dark hued ruby pink shade and it looks flattering on any outfit. The pigmentation is a lot more than the previously mentioned Colourpop lipsticks, as this is a darker shade but the performance is the same.

I got this lipstick in a lip kit of 5 dark-toned lipsticks called “Blues Baby” on the Colourpop website. Unfortunately, neither the kit nor the individual lipstick is sold on the site anymore. However, the shade “MORE BETTER” in the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipsticks is similar to Play Date, so try and get your hands on it while you can. It retails for $6.00 and is available on the Colourpop website.

4. Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color Shade – COFFEE LITE

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color – Coffee Lite

First things first, this lipstick smells absolutely HEAVENLY. It smells like coffee, butter, cake and all things nice. It is a deep pink-ish, nude-ish for deeper Indian skin tones. Trust me when I say this, it flatters ALL and I mean ALL skin tones. It feels very light on the lips and is not drying to your lips at all. True to the claim, it does stay on for about 8 hours without smudging and minimal transfer. As a blush too, it gives a very light flush to your cheeks which looks absolutely lovely. Love the packaging, love the fragrance, love the formula, love the price; I don’t really see any cons with this one.

Price : Rs. 575 ( It is available for Rs. 460 at Nykaa.com RIGHT NOW! )

Sold at : Nykaa, Amazon, Most of the online beauty sites and beauty stores around the country.

5. Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Gradation Shade – RED1

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Gradation – Red1

Red1 is my go-to shade of red. Its the perfect red for Indian Skin tones; its not too bright, not too dark – just the right color. I’ve tried so many red lipsticks and I always go back to this one. I’ve tried the infamous MAC Ruby Woo, and personally, I prefer Red1 (I know, bring out the guns.) It stays on for a long time – almost 8 hours and it has the pigmentation power of a good liquid lipstick. Just 2 swipes of this lipstick gives an even application for me. I usually use it as a normal red lipstick, but the lip gradation look works pretty well too.

Price : Rs. 500 ( It is available for Rs. 375 at Nykaa.com RIGHT NOW! )

Sold at : Nykaa, Amazon, Most of the online beauty sites and  beauty stores around the country.

6. Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Shade – VINTAGE BROWN

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte – Vintage Brown

The thing I love most about this lipstick is that you can manipulate the shade easily to make it look like a nude-ish brown on your lips or a dark, sultry brown.  Indian skin toned beauties can easily pull off either look. It is highly matte, so it is long lasting but also a little drying. It has good pigmentation,  with an even 2-3 swipes application. The color on the inner side of your lips fades when you eat greasy food, so it might need some retouching. Other than that, I love the formula, love the packaging, love the shade.

Price : Rs. 650

Sold at :  Nykaa, Amazon, Most of the online beauty sites and  beauty stores around the country.

7. Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lip Colour Shade – ROSEATE MOTIVE

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lip Colour – Roseate Motive

Roseate Motive is my favorite shade in the Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lip Colour range. It is the perfect mix of red, pink and coral. It has a semi-matte texture, so its not drying to your lips. It has tiny specks of shimmer in it, which I’m not a huge fan of, but the shimmer does not show up on the lips and it looks more like a subtle shine. It gives even application with 2-3 swipes. The lasting power of the lipstick is not for 8 hours as it claims, its more of a 5-hour lasting lipstick; but even then it does not completely fade away, it leaves a subtle tint on your lips so a simple retouching would do.

Price : Rs. 450 ( It is available for Rs. 360 at Nykaa.com RIGHT NOW! )

Sold at :  Nykaa, Amazon, Most of the online beauty sites and  beauty stores around the country.

8. Maybelline New York Color Show Matte Lipstick Shade – LIVELY VIOLET M401

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Maybelline New York Color Show Matte Lipstick – Lively Violet M401

Lively Violet is a light violet shade with pinkish undertones. This shade might look washed out on some and on others it looks perfect – a light, pastel violet; it depends on the undertones of your skin. Personally, I’ve tried this shade on a few of my friends with Indian skin tones and it looked gorgeous. Although, it might need about 4-5 swipes for an even application. It is creamy matte in texture and is absolutely non-drying to your lips. It might need a reapplication every 4 to 5 hours as it fades away due to the creamy texture. It has a pleasing vanilla cake-like fragrance which I love, love, love.

Price : Rs. 325  ( It is available for Rs. 244 at Nykaa.com RIGHT NOW! )

Sold at :  Nykaa, Amazon, Most of the online beauty sites and  beauty stores around the country.

9. Nykaa So Matte Lipstick Shade – TAUPE THRILL 12M

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Nykaa So Matte Lipstick – Taupe Thrill 12M

Taupe Thrill is the perfect nude for Indian Skin tone beauties. I’m in love with the shade as it brought my life long search for a perfect nude to an end. Contrary to its claim, its not “So Matte” but its more on the creamy matte side, with a longer staying power than creamy lipsticks. Personally, I don’t mind the texture, despite its claim, as I really like a good creamy matte lipstick and its a good break from the non-hydrating matte lipsticks I use. It gives a good coverage with 2-3 swipes. The packaging looks different than the other usual lipsticks out there, but I’m not a 100% fan of it; I still think it looks cool though.

If you’ve already bought the shade Royal Honey from this range, I’d suggest you to skip buying Taupe Thrill because they are quite similar. Honestly, I didn’t find any difference in them after application on the lips; although in the swatches Taupe Thrill looks just slightly darker.

Price : Rs. 399

Sold at : Nykaa.com

10.  Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick Shade – GLAMOROUS RED 553

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick – Glamorous Red 553

Glamorous Red is NOT red, as the name suggests; its more of a coral-ish brown with pink undertones. It is a very casual, natural shade for Indian Skin tones and it is easily my go-to lipstick. The shade is very subtle and not in-your-face. You can pull this one off on any outfit. This is a creamy lipstick and in no way matte, although once it fades it does leave just a subtle tint. 2-3 swipes should give you an even application. Reapplication is a must every 3 hours; so I wouldn’t mind wearing this for a short night out.

Price – Rs. 350

Sold at : Amazon, Most of the online beauty sites and  beauty stores around the country.

DIY #1 : Creme Lipsticks!

Hello lovelies!

I’ve always had a problem finding the perfect shade of lipstick for my skin tone; a perfect red, a perfect pink – it was always too dark, too bright or just very plain. So I decided to make my very own lipstick shades that won’t burn a huge hole in my pocket and even save me the misery of trying and testing over a hundred lipstick shades. Its really easy and actually quite fun! I found myself making shades I wouldn’t even use, like blue or black, just because I wanted to see how I’d look in them.

Ingredients  :

IMG_0022.JPG

The quantity of the ingredients depends on the size of your lipstick container.

  1. Color pigment. (Loose color pigments are available in health/beauty stores or you can always use the pigments from your blush or matte eye shadows)
  2. Bentonite Clay. ( Add half a teaspoon of rose water or just plain water to the clay. You can increase the quantity of Bentonite Clay if you want your lipstick to be more matte in texture.)
  3. Essential Oils. ( This is an important ingredient for making creme lipsticks as they contain more oil than matte lipsticks. You can use coconut oil, herbal oil or almond oil. I prefer using almond oil, as it has a better consistency and it is very hydrating for your lips.)
  4. Cocoa Butter. ( This acts as a moisturizing agent to your lipstick. You can use Shea Butter or any other safe moisturizing butter in its place.)
  5. 1/2 teaspoon petroleum jelly (Optional) (Petroleum Jelly gives a more glossy/balmy texture to your lipstick when you add it to the moisturizing butter.)

All the ingredients used here are completely skin safe, harmless and much healthier for your lips than the factory manufactured lipsticks of high end brands. It is always reassuring when you know exactly what you are putting on to your skin.

Making the Lipstick  :

First, add the bentonite clay and rose water/plain water into a bowl and stir until you get a thick foundation like consistency. Make sure you add one part water for every two parts of clay. Next, add two parts almond oil, two parts cocoa butter and 1/2 teaspoon of petroleum jelly and stir them well. Now add the color pigment of your choice and stir again. If you think the mixture is too dry, add almond oil and stir until its in your desired consistency.

Now take the bowl and put it above a medium flame on the cooking stove, you can see that the ingredients start mixing up really well. Stir it once and leave it undisturbed until you see the mixture bubbling. If the mixture dries out before it starts bubbling, add more cocoa butter and almond oil and stir it on the heat. Once it starts bubbling, remove the bowl from the stove, mix it well and add it to your container while its hot. You can also use a microwave to heat up your lipstick mixture; just transfer the contents to a microwave safe bowl and heat it up for 30 seconds; but this is tricky as you might have to reheat it again and again until you see it bubbling. I had to reheat it thrice and then once more as it started to cool off before I added it to the container. Once you’ve added the mixture to the container, store it in the refrigerator for 5-8 minutes and then store it in room temperature at all times.

You can either use the lip balm/lip color containers that are available at any retail store, or you can use containers from your old lip colors to store them. Use a lip brush for application and there you go, your DIY Creme Lipstick is ready to use!

IMG_0023.JPG

IMG_0024

You can make as many shades as you like with the same procedure, just by changing the color pigment. To make it more matte in texture, add more bentonite clay than the essential oils and to make it more creme in texture add the same amount of bentonite clay and essential oils, or one part more of the essential oil depending on the kind of texture you want.

Swatches  :

IMG_0033.JPG

The purple colored lipstick (third one from the left) is more matte in formula than the red and pink colors.

If you liked reading this or if you want to see more DIY’s on the blog, then like, comment and share to let me know! 🙂

See you until the next post!

Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Tints in Starlet Red Review.

12721545_1140621872655411_676683120_n

Hello everyone!

This week I’ll be reviewing the Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout Matte Tints in the Starlet Red shade.
Honestly, I couldn’t wait to use the Lakmé Lip Tints from the minute I heard about them. With all its bright colors, clever advertising, and of course, it’s attractive packaging, I couldn’t be more tempted.
There are six amazing shades in the collection – Victorian Rose, Raving Red, Magenta Magic, Tangerine Touch, Pink Fantasy and Starlet Red. It sounds more like a shade for every mood.
If I could, I would review all these shades, but for now let’s look at Starlet Red.

My take on Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout Matte Tints in Starlet Red :

I chose the shade Starlet Red because for some reason I’m always attracted to Reds. I rarely wear any red lipstick, because I haven’t found the right red for myself yet. But the Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout Matte Tint in Starlet Red has put my life long search for the perfect red on pause. The color is very close to the perfect red I’ve always wanted. It has an amazing color, which is a warm red with just a slight tinge of coral in it.

Coming to its texture, it’s a purely matte lip product, so it’s very dry. Applying only the lip tint on your lips wouldn’t be a winning look, as it tends to look really dry on itself. I love that it’s completely matte, but I also hate that it dries out my lips. I’d advise a subtle coat of sheer lip gloss after the application of the lip tint, if you want to get that perfect, glamorous pout. For those with chapped lips, a generous application of lip balm is a must before using the Lip Tint on your lips, otherwise they might appear flaky. I’d prefer using the Lakmé Lip Love Lip Balm for this, as it acts as a pretty amazing primer for the lips, without robbing the lipstick of its color.

It has really attractive packaging. The outer cover is shiny black, just like every other product in the Absolute range. The inner covering of the product is bright and attractive, with the color of the lipstick shade on it.

The Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout Matte Tint tends to stay on your lips for more than 6-8 hours, which is a lot as compared to the other long lasting lipsticks. The stay of the lip tints is completely satisfying for me, as it didn’t smudge, it didn’t wear off easily, and it lasted all night – even through greasy food! I don’t remember the last time I used a lipstick with such long stay power. You definitely need to use a makeup remover to take the product off, as it is rightfully, waterproof.

Maybelline Fit Me! Pressed Powder in 310 Sun Beige Review

12767269_1123519754365623_1569165548_n.jpg

Hello everyone!

Really long time since I’ve reviewed something on the blog. I’ve been terribly busy so, sorry about that.
Coming to the point of this post, I’ll be reviewing a product from The Maybelline Fit Me! collection.

The Maybelline Fit Me! collection offers foundation, pressed powder, concealer and blush, ranging from light to dark (4 shades), varying to different complexions. The numbers on every Fit Me! product corresponds with the other products, which makes it easier to find your perfect match in every Fit Me! category. I’ll be reviewing the Maybelline Fit Me! Pressed Powder in 310 Sun Beige in this post, as the title suggests!

My take on Maybelline Fit Me! Pressed Powder in 310 Sun Beige :

The packaging of the compact powder is truly compact and travel friendly. It is black in colour with a small, square glass window through which you can see the colour of the shade. The outer covering of the product is square, but the actual product is circle, which is in a way misguiding, so I was a little disappointed there. The square box has two compartments, in which the first one consists of the actual powder and the second compartment underneath the powder consists of a square mirror and a puff.

The shade 310 Sun Beige is the darkest shade in the collection, so obviously the closest to my skin tone. Initially, I had doubts that the shade is still too light for my skin, but on application, it blended easily and created a soft look on my face, although I wouldn’t mind a darker shade of the compact powder.

The powder is surprisingly light weight (although, the product does claim to be so) and it did not create a cake-y look on my face, unlike a few compact related disasters I’ve had in the recent past *shudder*. The Fit Me! Pressed Powder has a light shimmer to it, which is so subtle that you wouldn’t even notice it, but it tends to give a natural looking glow to the face. The texture of the powder is very fine and light. It’s not completely matte, but it manages to give a natural look to your face.

It sure is not a long-stay compact, as I noticed the powder wearing off just after 2 hours from application, even on a cold winter day. It also turned my skin greasy after wearing off, so I had to reapply it every 2 hours, something which I wasn’t happy doing. And as the mirror was in a completely different compartment than the powder, I had to keep switching while applying, so zero points to utility. I also had to throw out the puff at my first application, as it did not do quite a well job in blending the powder, and the material was very cheap and rough, so I had to use my trusted makeup sponges to do the job.

But looking on the bright side, it is still a really decent compact for a very affordable price. It just needs a little getting used to as it is different than the other compact powders out there.

Product Description :

Flawless. Beautiful. Fresh. With Fit Me! Powder Foundation you can make visible pores and shine disappear while still getting perfect build-able coverage. It comes in with a mirror and a sponge for easy application. The pressed powder glides on easily and is perfect for a light coverage.

Product Ingredients :

G3425 Talc, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Magnesium Stearate, Isoderyl, Neopentanoate, Nylon -12, Caprylyl Glycol.

Price & Quantity :

Rs. 475 for 0.3 Oz/ 9 gms of powder.

Product Pros :

– Lightweight.
– Affordable.
– Blends easily well.
– Not a harsh product, works well even on sensitive skin.
– Compact packaging.
– Creates a natural glow on the face.

Product Cons :

– Not completely mattifying.
– No warmer shades available.
– Does not stay for a long period of time/ quick to wear off.
– The given puff is of cheap quality and unusable.
– Confusing placement of two different compartments.
– Not suitable for oily skin.

Coral & Honey Rating :

3.5 out of 5

See you all next week, with a new product to review! xx

Late Halloween Post : Half-Face/Persephone Look

Hi Guys!

Happy Halloween to all of you! I know its kinda late but, Trick or Treat?

This year I went as Half Face. Or in my opinion, Persephone, The Goddess of Spring and The Queen of the Underworld.

12200595_1049867468397519_857053835_n

So the entire look was created just using normal makeup. The products that I used are :

  • Lakmé Eye Artist
  • Maybelline Colossal Kajal
  • Maybelline Eye Studio Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner
  • Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara
  • Lakme Silk Naturelle Daily Foundation
  • Maybelline ClearGlow Shine-Free Clear Stick
  • Maybelline ClearGlow All in One Fairness Compact Powder
  • Maybelline Blush Studio Cheeky Glow in Fresh Coral
  • Love & Beauty Lip Gloss Eye Shadows Palette
  • Lakmé Tropical Island Lipcolor
  • Street Wear Color Rich Ultramoist Lipstick in Please Me Pink

12182321_1049867905064142_1949220215_n

This look took about an hour to perfect. The makeup for the Evil skull look was done entirely with the Maybelline Eye Studio Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner. I used it as its stay is longer and its Waterproof, so any amount of sweat or oil won’t melt it on my face. It lasts well for the entire evening for around 5-6 hours without rubbing off on my dress or my hands or just anywhere. I figured Eyeliner is the way to go than facepaint, because facepaint usually cracks and dries out and I didn’t want that. The Eyeliner gave a very natural and artisty look. I outlined the lines first with the Lakmé Eye Artist as it has the feel of a sketch so its pretty easy to draw with, and then I darkened those lines with the Maybelline Eyeliner. And then I used the Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara for my lashes, which did a really good work in making them look heavy and dark, and added a bit of a curl, over all being a big plus to my dark and dangerous look. For the lips I used the Lakmé Tropical Island Lipcolor as it has a nude shade and blends with my skin color, hiding my original Lip color which is kind of a pale pink. And on that Lip color, I drew the skull lines with the eyeliner to complete the look.

Coming to the Good girl look, I pretty much used my basic makeup routine as I didn’t want it to be too much heavy and in competition to the already heavy Evil look. In the good girl look, I used a light pinkish shade of eyeshadow from the Love & Beauty Eye Shadow Pallete, lined my eyes with the Maybelline Eye Studio Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner, lined my water line with the Maybelline Colossal Kajal and used the Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara on my lashes. Coming to the lips I used the Street Wear Color Rich Lipstick in the Please Me Pink shade. The thing about this shade in the Street Wear Lipstick is its more of a lighter playful Red than it is Pink, so that shade was just perfect for the look. I used the Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in the shade Fresh Coral for my cheeks, as it has a very light pink shade and blends well with the good girl look.

Before starting out to apply makeup separately on both sides, I applied moisturizer and toner to my face, to help the make up set and stay. I applied the Lakmé Silk Naturelle Daily Foundation over my face as a base, and used the Maybelline ClearGlow Shine-Free Clear Stick to hide any blemishes and even out my skin tone, as it works as the perfect concealer and even as a BB stick. After the entire look was done, I dusted my face with clear powder to help it set.

If you’re thinking of trying this look out, make sure you do use a toner before u apply the makeup as it helps a lot. And this goes without saying, make sure you wash your face clean and apply a good moisturizer. To remove the makeup, I used the Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean! Eye and Lip Makeup Remover and as you can see, more than half of it is empty as it takes a lot to remove that much long staying makeup. But this makeup remover does the trick.

All in all, I’m really glad with the look and how it turned out. If anyone of you are thinking of trying this look out, please let me know in the comments below and also let me know what you dressed up as for Halloween this year, and what are your favorite looks, if you’d like me to try any of them, or just about anything.

Hope you had a great and scary Halloween! See you until the next post!

SIVANNA Nude on Nude Eyeshadow Lipkit Review

Hi everyone,

I’ve been looking for new brands in makeup and I recently came across the brand Sivanna colors. This is a very affordable brand with a wide range of beauty products in many categories and many of them are affordable twins of the high end products. They are available in India at Flipkart and Amazon online stores.

I ordered Sivanna Nude on Nude Eye Shadow lipkit and Sivanna Colors Rose grilled blush (which I’ll be reviewing soon enough) few days back on the online store Flipkart. The eye shadow has an uncanny resemblance to the NYX nude on nude Eye Shadow Lipkit and the blusher looks a lot like the MILANI Romantic Rose Powder Blush.

Here’s the review:

My take on SIVANNA Nude on Nude Eye Shadow Lipkit :

It has 20 eye shadows and 10 lip colors for an affordable price. And it comes in a chocolate brown box, which is compact enough for a makeup pallet. Though the name is Nude on Nude, I found this is a mixture of browns, purples, golds and grey shades. There is a very attractive dark blue shade among all the others, that I’m most excited to use. The kit also comes with two brushes, one eye shadow brush and one lip brush. The eye shadow brush is comfortable but the lip brush is harsh and I wouldn’t advise its use. The eye shadows on the upper row can be visible from outside through small transparent glass windows, which is very attractive and smart packaging.

Coming to the texture, surprisingly, the texture of all the  colors is much smoother than what I expected but the color pay off is not as good as the texture except for the darker shades. There are only three dark shades ~ blackish dark blue, copper gold and black with silver undertones.

The formula of the lip shades is smooth and glossy. The darker shades give a better color than the lighter ones. But 3-4 swipes of the lighter shades would suffice for a good look.

Overall, its a good palette for beginners in makeup. With 20 eye shadows and 10 lip colors, for a very affordable price, I’d say that it’s worth your money. Only one complaint? The color pay off should have been better.
I would really like to know your experience with any product SIVANNA Colors, if you have previously used any.

CHAMBOR Happy Hues Blusher 603 Mermaid Blush Review

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to review the CHAMBOR Happy Hues Blusher in shade 603 Mermaid.

My take on CHAMBOR Happy Hues Blusher 603 Mermaid Blush

First of all, I want to tell you why I chose to review a blusher for my first post. Its because a blusher, as a product, according to me, is very useful in making a difference in my face, and to change it in a huge way, that looks decent and also very natural. The trick is that you just have to choose the right blusher for your skin tone.

My skin tone is wheatish, and I’m very choosy and experimental in any type of makeup that I use, especially blushes. Most of the blushes that I have used previously get mixed with my skin tone and doesn’t really show off much. But the Chambor Happy Hues Blusher put my woes to an end. It has impressed me much more than any other blush has, as its a little darker and really shows up on my face making it look thinner with a fresh glow.

Its outer packaging is the same as every other product of the Happy Hues Range, a lovely metallic celadon packaging. It comes in a teal metallic blue rectangular shaped pan case which is very thin and smaller than it looks in the pictures. I love its texture, which is very soft and silky smooth and also a little powdery. I normally prefer and like powdery textures as they make my face look fresh and light. Even though the formula is powdery, once you apply it on your cheeks it gives a silky look and a matte finish.
It comes with a small brush and a mirror attached to the case. The brush takes a fine amount of powder in a single swipe.
It’s dark pink in color, which usually suits many Indian complexions. And is also perfect for a spring-summer weather.
The wear time is approximately 4-5 hours for normal skin, and can be lower for oily skin.
I use it regularly as a daily blush, and I enjoy using it. It also contours my face in a decent way and it looks very natural and eases up on your complexion.

The two things that I don’t like about the blush, is its unnatural and artificial smell and also the brush that comes along with it is a little harsh on the skin. Although the brush manages to take an adequate quantity of the powder for application, its not technically a blush brush, so it doesn’t work well for proper application on the cheeks.

Otherwise, I just love that it instantly perks up my face whenever I apply it, and makes me look younger in just one or two swipes.
A single swipe would be enough for daily use. Use two swipes for a party look and there, you look stunning.

I would definitely recommend this to everyone, and in my opinion, its worth a try.
